One
Hundred Flashlights
into
the Sea
Time
has its way with us all
days
will lean toward the edge
Some
days lay back and watch
you
fall And I am tired of this
role
I ‘ll just close my eyes and
take
a step into the unknown Well
I’ll
pack my bags and leave for
good
I feel I need an unknown
highway
to lead me where I’ll be
A
place where song and dance
can
out- weigh all our other needs
A
chance so I can start to feel
the
stars within where anything is
everything
Some place where
we
won’t be found Oh….. And I’d
rather
be left out on this limb than
climb
back down from the tree And
though
my grip is feeling weak
and
everything around me seems
to
fade away I’d rather view this
scene
All that I need from this night
is
for its mystery to remain And I
don’t
known when this first began
My
questions drift upon unstable
ground
But with that look inside her
eyes
Something creeps up from
behind
and whispers songs unheard
that
keeps me from just letting go.
